Process for Getting an In-Lab Polysomnography

  1. Order Placement:
    • An order for the in-lab polysomnography (sleep study) will be placed and sent to an overnight sleep lab affiliated with Rise Sleep Medicine.
  2. Insurance Authorization:
    • The sleep lab will contact your insurance provider to obtain authorization for the study. This step is essential to ensure the procedure is covered under your insurance plan.
  3. Scheduling the Sleep Study:
    • Once insurance authorization is received, the sleep lab will call you to schedule a convenient time for your overnight sleep study.
  4. Performing the Sleep Study:
    • On the scheduled date, you will go to the sleep lab for the overnight polysomnography. The study involves monitoring your sleep patterns, brain waves, heart rate, and other vital signs to diagnose potential sleep disorders.
  5. Obtaining Results:
    • After the sleep study is performed, it typically takes about two weeks to analyze the data and obtain the study results.
  6. Follow-Up Appointment:
    • As soon as Rise Sleep Medicine receives your sleep study results, we will reach out to you to schedule a clinic appointment. During this appointment, we will discuss the test results and the next steps for your treatment and care.

This streamlined process ensures that you receive timely and accurate diagnosis and recommendations for any sleep-related issues.
